When: Sunday, May 19, 2019
Location: The Last Bookstore, 453 S Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90013
Imagine spending years of your life pouring your heart and soul into a book manuscript, only to have it rejected twelve times by twelve different publishers. Then imagine not giving up, getting accepted for publishing on your thirteenth attempt, and turning that manuscript into the best-selling book series in history, while also conveniently turning you into one of the richest people in the world. This is the rags to riches story of J.K. Rowling, author of Harry Potter and creative giant of epic proportions. While Harry Potter is certainly Rowling’s crowning achievement, her brilliance lies within the series’ doctrine of unwavering morality, composed bravery, undying curiosity, and universal empathy. Join us for a day of deep learning as we explore the life and work of Rowling within the whimsical literary corridors of The Last Bookstore in downtown Los Angeles!
