Each Spyglass workshop or series will be designed for a specified age range of at least four years (e.g. 8-12 or 14-18).
Spyglass is a live, interactive distance learning program for gifted and advanced students in elementary through high school. Spyglass workshops are held via video call and led by content experts on a variety of topics. Students engage with advanced material and participate in collaborative discussions with small groups of like-minded peers. Depending on the topic and age group, Spyglass workshops may be 60 to 90 minutes long.
Each Spyglass workshop or series will be designed for a specified age range of at least four years (e.g. 8-12 or 14-18).
Instead of going through an application process, families will be asked to complete enrollment forms for each child to gather basic information on background knowledge and learning needs. Once these initial forms are completed, returning students can sign up for workshops by completing an abbreviated version of the form.
Though students are not required to be formally identified as gifted or have participated in another IEA program, students are expected to be engaged, curious, motivated. A code of conduct will be provided upon enrollment. Some workshops may have required prerequisite knowledge, which would be included in the workshop description.
Spyglass workshops are $35 per 90-minute interactive workshop. Discounted pricing will be available for enrollment in multiple workshops in a series.
