Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life. Poetry Out Loud is a partnership of the National Endowment for the Arts, Poetry Foundation, and the state and jurisdictional arts agencies.

For more than 30 years, Posse has identified and trained young people with extraordinary potential who might be missed by elite schools. Their program places Scholars in supportive, multicultural groups of 10 students — Posses. With mentoring and full-tuition leadership scholarships from partner colleges, Posse Scholars graduate at a rate of 90 percent. As alumni, they are well prepared and positioned for success.

Kettering University offers camps and one-day workshops in both STEM and Business for students in 1st-12th grade. The camps focus on financial literacy, LEGO building, working in the medical profession, computer engineering, robotics, and more.

Precollegiate Programs is committed to enhancing the academic lives of individuals K-12 through offering programs on a collegiate campus. Each year, Precollegiate Programs offers academic programs that present unique learning experiences to help prepare students to become future college students. By offering programs on the University of Oklahoma campus, every student has the opportunity to see and experience what college life is like.

Throughout the school year, Precollegiate Programs offers a variety of programs for students attending elementary, middle, and high school in Oklahoma. These programs include: gifted and talented workshops, ACT and PSAT test preparation courses, Model United Nations workshops, and conferences.

In Profiles in Courage, John F. Kennedy recounted the stories of eight U.S. senators who risked their careers to do what was right for the nation. These leaders demonstrated political courage by taking a stand for the public good in spite of pressure by interest groups, their political party, or even their constituents. The Profile in Courage Essay Contest challenges students to write an original and creative essay that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage.

The Purple Comet! Math Meet is a free, on-line, international, team mathematics competition designed for middle and high school students conducted annually since 2003.

The QuestBridge National College Match is a college and scholarship application process that helps outstanding low-income high school seniors gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation’s most selective colleges.

Since 2014, the Rachel Carson Landmark Alliance has been directing the Rachel Carson Intergenerational Sense of Wonder/Sense of the Wild Contest and continue to regard it as a worthwhile way to honor this great American’s legacy. Winning entries submitted especially by young team members in the form of poetry or prose have aptly demonstrated these writers’ appreciation for nature’s wonders.

The Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Award publicly recognizes excellent literary magazines produced by students with the support of their teachers. REALM is designed to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines that celebrate the art and craft of writing.

The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), a program of Society for Science & the Public (the Society), is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to enter.

Started in 1942 as the Westinghouse Science Talent Search, the Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) recognizes and empowers our nation’s most promising young scientists who are developing ideas that could solve society’s most urgent challenges. Each year, nearly 1,900 students enter the Regeneron STS, submitting original research in critically important scientific fields of study. Unique among high school competitions, the Regeneron STS focuses on identifying, inspiring, and engaging the most promising scientists among the nation’s high school seniors.

The Richard and Elizabeth Dean Scholarship awards two scholarships in the preferred amount of $5,000 each year for up to four consecutive years to graduating high school students. The selection process shall be based on academic merit with an initial minimum GPA of 4.0.

The Halbert and Nancy Robinson Center for Young Scholars (RC) at the University of Washington is dedicated to teaching, research, and service, and to developing programs that serve highly capable young pre-college and college students. Through Early Entrance Programs (EEP), Transition Schools, enrichment and summer programming, RC provides intensive, in-depth learning experiences for gifted students in need of challenge. The Robinson Center for Young Scholars is located in Seattle, Washington, though out-of-state applicants can apply to UW Academy for early entrance.

The Ron Brown Scholarship honors the legacy of Ronald H. Brown through a selective scholarship program that advances higher education for community-minded and intellectually gifted African Americans.  RBSP competitively awards Ron Brown Scholars four-year $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the most talented and economically-challenged high school seniors who demonstrate a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship – the four pillars of the late Ronald H. Brown’s mission to uplift people of all races, cultures and ethnicities – especially our disadvantaged youth.

The Russian School of Mathematics is an award-winning afterschool math enrichment program for K-12 students. Over 16 years, RSM has developed a unique accrediated math academy curriculum focused on developing core fundamentals and logical thinking. RSM offers a wide variety of programs for Elementary, Middle and High school students including summer school, overnight camp, tutoring, and online classes.

Satori Camp allows students aged 12-18 to choose three mini-courses from a variety of offerings. Participants are introduced to a wide range of academic and special interest courses designed to develop a well-rounded individual. Each course is held for approximately two hours a day over the six days of camp. This continuity allows for in-depth exploration of subject material, active inquiry and discussion, and hands-on participation by students. While attending Satori, campers live on Eastern Washington University’s tree-shaded main campus in Cheney, Washington.
