CTY’s Diagnostic and Counseling Center provides individualized assessments and educational guidance for students of all ages. The goal is to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and learning style of students, and to help families find ways to support their bright child’s educational needs.

CTY’s program at Princeton University is a three-week residential summer program for academically talented high school students grade 10 and above. The program focuses on key global issues in the 21st century and is geared both to the students’ high abilities and to their need for peers who share their academic abilities and their love of learning.

CTY’s gifted and talented Online Programs give academically advanced students the freedom to access more than 170 online courses, expert instructors, and engaging curriculum wherever they are. Gifted online courses range from elementary to college-level and include such courses as math, AP science, Chinese, grammar, critical reading, computer science, and writing. Courses are offered in session-based, individually paced, or flexi-paced formats for added convenience. Financial aid is available.

Licensed psychologist Dr. Karen M. Jordan provides psychological and psychoeducational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. These assessments are designed to address issues such as giftedness, best school fit, learning disorders, and emotional concerns. The center is located in Overland Park, Kansas.

The Juniper Institute for Young Writers in a nine-day creative writing programs for students who have completed their sophomore, junior, or senior years of high school. Hosted by the University of Massachusetts MFA Program for Poets and Writers, the Institute offers students a unique opportunity to participate in intensive creative writing workshops, craft sessions, and studio courses designed especially for young writers.

Kate Duey is a Certified College Consultant and the founder of Admissions Planning, LLC which provides high quality, customized, solution-oriented college application consulting and a proven commitment to creating the best college options for each and every student. Kate will discuss about the special issues facing gifted students and their families during the college search and application process. She has worked with IEA supporting gifted students since 2009 and has a wealth of knowledge about their unique challenges and their wonderful potential.

Khan Academy is a not-for-profit personalized learning resource for all ages, dedicated to providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. They offer practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empowers learners to study at their own pace in and outside the classroom. Khan Academy offers courses in math, science, computer programming, history, art, economics, and more.

Kids That Code offers unique programs in which children will be introduced to computer programming, game development, website creation, electronics, and much more.

Kira Christensen is a Licensed Educational Psychologist in Sacramento, CA, specializing in educational consulting and diagnostic assessment of students from elementary school through high school and college, including adult students.  Kira determines the presence of giftedness, intellectual and learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia, as well as the presence of memory, attention, and social emotional and behavioral problems impeding learning, such as ADHD, anxiety and depression.

Koality’s goal is to help every teenager spend their summer meaningfully. There are countless benefits of attending a summer program or internship, including gaining work experience in an industry-specific field, meeting like-minded peers from all over the world, getting a glimpse into college-life, learning new skills, and even gaining high school or college credit. Every student should have this opportunity regardless of interest, socioeconomic class, and location. Koality Programs ensure that the resources are available to all students.

LaunchX holds a summer program to tap into the potential of ambitious high school students, supporting them through the process of launching an actual startup. This four-week, intensive program allows young entrepreneurs to learn from industry experts and work in a group of peer co-founders to build real products and solve business challenges.

As a Project Curriculum & Learning Designer at Mattel, Dr. Felt supports the Child Development & Learning team in establishing world-class learning content and curriculum and activating child development and learning expertise across Mattel, all in the pursuit of helping children and families to optimally and joyfully learn through play.
As a Lecturer in business communication at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, she helps students to develop versatile skills and optimize professional experiences in order to prepare them for bright, dynamic futures.

LEDA is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to identifying and developing the academic and leadership potential of exceptional public high school students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. Each year, LEDA recruits a new cohort of LEDA Scholars – 100 qualified high school juniors who show leadership potential but lack the exposure and support they need to attend highly selective colleges. LEDA Scholars receive leadership training, writing instruction, standardized test preparation and a year of highly personalized guidance as they navigate the application and admissions process at the most competitive colleges. Throughout college and beyond, Scholars are offered ongoing advising, career counseling, postgraduate planning and community-building support to help them succeed and lead.

MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory Radar Introduction for Student Engineers (LLRISE) program is a summer workshop teaching students how to build small radar systems. This summer STEM program is a FREE two-week residential project-based enrichment program for outstanding students currently in their junior year in high school.

Linda Powers-Leviton specializes in counseling for the gifted. She has her own psychotherapy private practice in addition to working at the West Coast Office of the Gifted Development Center. Her expertise with the gifted population (particularly the twice exceptional–those who also have learning or emotional challenges) has prepared her to offer a uniquely specialized program to address the particular needs of this community. She offers services by phone or email in addition to in person appointments.

Lone Star Leadership Academies are Sunday through Friday overnight camps offered throughout the summer for outstanding 4th-8th graders. Campers have the opportunity to explore significant sites in Texas’ three largest metropolitan areas with other outstanding students… all before 9th grade!
