During Stanford University’s Summer Quarter, high school students from the United States and around the globe are invited to spend eight or nine weeks living and learning in the heart of Silicon Valley. Alongside visiting undergraduate and matriculated students, students will earn credit and a Stanford University transcript at one of the most competitive universities in the world. Participants can choose from more than 145 courses offered by 30 departments within the schools of Humanities and Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Engineering.

The Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program (SIMR) is an eight-week program in which high school students from diverse backgrounds are invited to perform basic research with Stanford faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students and researchers on a medically-oriented project. The goals of the program include increasing interest in biological sciences and medicine in high school students, helping students to understand how scientific research is performed, and increasing diversity of students and researchers in the sciences.

The Stanford Online High School (OHS) is an accredited, diploma-granting independent school serving students in grades 7-12. The OHS brings together academically talented and motivated students from around the world into a vibrant intellectual community with teachers who are passionate about their disciplines, accomplished in their fields, and above all, dedicated to teaching. Students can customize their school experience with a variety of enrollment options: full-time, part-time, or single-course. OHS offers online instruction which includes live, synchronous seminars on a college-style class schedule, encouraging independence, discipline, and strong time-management skills.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes is a three-week summer residential program held on Stanford campus that provides academically talented and intellectually curious students currently in grades 8–11 with intensive study in a single course.

STAR Institute is the premier treatment, research and education center for children and adults with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). This includes feeding disorders and other disorders with sensory issues such as autism and ADHD.

STEM World offers eight exciting and educational STEM programs. All of the after-school classes, weekend workshops, and holiday/summer camps are filled with practical, hands-on activities, carefully chosen to be fun, relevant and engaging! Through a supportive learning environment, students are encouraged to try things out for themselves and learn from their mistakes, developing confidence, independence, and critical thinking skills.  They also exercise their creativity and develop teamwork skills with activities and challenges designed to excite and inspire!

Stepping Stones Therapy & Learning Academy believes that education is a personal journey for every family. Their program is designed in a variety of ways along this road through helping families identify homeschool/alternative education options to finding the right fit for your learner’s unique learning style. They offer a variety of specialized and individualized programs with the goal to provide an enriched learning environment and ensure each learner feels emotionally safe to explore, discover, and learn at his or her own pace and in his or her own way, with the support of a credentialed teacher and/or learning coach. 

Sternberg Science Camps are based at the FHSU Sternberg Museum of Natural History in Kansas. They are a non-profit organization pursuing equitable access to exceptional earth and life science education programs for kids and teens. All of the program fees go to program execution, payingstaff, and funding scholarship program. They use small groups to boost community development and increase per-student attention from staff. their instructors are experts in their fields, with experience and training in education as well as research, field work, and other scientific career paths. Their alumni can be found across the country, pursuing careers in academic research, resource management, science education, industry, and the arts. Many of them even come back to work for as counselors and teaching assistants.

Join an SCA Crew and become a part of SCA’s nationwide network of young conservationists – thousands of students who are as passionate about preserving wildlands, protecting nature in urban areas, and keeping the planet green. SCA offers a range of programs for youth ages 15-19.

Student Introduction To Engineering (SITE) is a summer program hosted by The University of Alabama College of Engineering for rising high school juniors and seniors who are interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Held at the Discovery Cube locations in Orange County and Los Angeles, these hands-on summer camps include thrilling animal adventures, exciting coding challenges, wild dinosaur discoveries and more science wonders. They offer several different programs that give kids of all ages the chance to investigate science through fun and one-of-a-kind experiences. Discovery Cube camp staff consist of education professionals who will help ignite the spark of curiosity in children through the wonders of science.

For more than 56 years, Summer Discovery has delivered transformative summer experiences for high school and middle school students through active partnerships with world-leading universities. They pair the academic experience with fun, supervised activities to help students connect with their peers from around the globe, explore college campuses, and tour amazing cities. Explore courses, career paths, new cities, new friendships, and more!

The Summer Gifted and Talented Program provides meaningful academic and social enrichment to highly motivated students entering grades 2–8. The program is a powerful experience for academically gifted and talented students, exposing them to like-minded peers and lifelong friendships, challenging learning experiences, and an opportunity to blossom as confident lifelong learners and leaders in a tightly knit, safe and supportive environment.

Summer Institute for the Gifted has been a leader in gifted education since 1984. SIG provides summer academic enrichment programs for gifted and academically talented students ages 6-17. More importantly, SIG is a place where gifted students can be themselves and be part of a community of like-minded peers. SIG is a place of exploration, laughter, potential, creativity, innovation, and fun.

The Pre-College Program offers many engaging activities beyond the classroom to ensure students make the most out of their two weeks on campus. They will have opportunities to engage with faculty, visit New York City socialize with fellow high school students, and explore the Hudson Valley.

SMASH Academy is a three-year STEM- intensive residential college prep program that empowers students to deepen their talents and pursue STEM careers. Every summer, scholars are immersed in tuition-free studies at a leading universities throughout the country. During the academic year, scholars participate in monthly programming. They are coached by instructors of color that represent the future they can have. Because of their common background, students connect more deeply with instructors and gain true mentorship from these STEM professors and industry professionals.
