A partnership between the Institute for Educational Advancement and Pasadena Unified School District to serve gifted students in our public schools.

After-School Innovation Clubs

IEA is partnering with the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) to deliver high-quality gifted and talented services for eligible students. PUSD students identified or demonstrating potential towards identification for gifted and talented education (GATE) are invited to attend after-school Innovation Clubs, a student-centered learning experience where scholars work in teams to complete a variety of design challenges and explore independent topics of study in the STEM fields.

Innovation Clubs include hands-on STEM challenges, science fiction writing, 3D printing projects, environmental design activities, and Innovation Exposition project mentorship.

IEA currently facilitates Innovation Clubs at the following schools, as determined by the district:

  • Altadena Arts Magnet
  • Hamilton Elementary
  • Jackson Elementary
  • Longfellow Elementary
  • Madison Elementary
  • McKinley
  • Norma Coombs Elementary
