Testing Requirements

The Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship application requires two testing components:

  • Component 1: Each applicant is required to upload their two most recent state, district, or school-administered standardized test results to their application. * **
  • Component 2: One of the following must be submitted through the test administrator ***:
    1. CTD Above Level Assessment
    2. SAT, or 
    3. ACT

* Students with no standardized testing record due to homeschooling or because their school or program does not administer standardized testing ARE still eligible to apply for the Scholarship. 

** Applicants must be in the top tier on at least ONE qualifying subtest or total battery/composite score on a standardized test in the past two years. Acceptable academic areas include keywords such as: Mathematics, Mathematics Total, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal, Verbal Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Language, Language Total, English Language Arts, Total Battery or Total Composite. 

*** Please note there is no minimum score for the CTD Above Level Assessment, ACT, or SAT. Applicants may only register and submit one test score. We strongly encourage applicants to register for the earliest available test date as seats fill fast.

Component 2 Test Dates

1. CTD Above Level Assessment

The Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship has partnered with Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development to accept their above-level assessment to fulfill the CDB Testing requirement. This test is provided in partnership with Northwestern University Center for Talent Development at the cost of $75. To register please:

Waiver codes are provided for families who have financial need and supporting documentation must be submitted to IEA and CDB directly.

Accepted documents include: state issued Medicaid or State Aid card for the student, family tax returns or other government issued support documents.

2. SAT

The SAT is accepted in lieu of the CTD Above Grade Level testing for those applying to the Class of 2031 Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship. 

If the test cost presents a financial barrier please email Scholarship@EducationalAdvancement.org. Financial Aid is limited and considered on a case-by-case basis. 

If your child is under 13, please contact the College Board for information on how to register for the SAT. 

Registration for the SAT is $68 and information on how to register for the SAT can be found on the College Board website.

* Please be advised that while applicants may take the SAT on May 1, 2027, we cannot guarantee that the Selection Committee will receive results in time for consideration.

Please send SAT scores to the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship Program using code 3862. 

3. ACT

The ACT is also accepted in lieu of the CTD Above Grade Level testing for those applying to the Class of 2031 Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship. 

If the test cost presents a financial barrier please email Scholarship@EducationalAdvancement.org. Financial Aid is limited and considered on a case-by-case basis. 

The ACT no longer allows students under the age of 13 to register for their exam. Applicants under the age of 13 will have to take the CTD Above Level Assessment or SAT. 

Registration for the ACT is $69 and information on how to register for the test can be found on the ACT website.

An update about CDB Application

Application Deadline

The Application deadline for the Class of 2031 Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship has been extended to April 23rd at 8:00 PM Pacific time! We want to ensure everyone who’s interested has enough time to apply. We look forward to reviewing your application!

Testing Requirements

The CTD Above-Level Testing through Northwestern University dates are at full capacity.

In lieu of the CTD Above Level Testing, the Caroline D. Bradley Scholarship team will accept the CTD E-Tip Assessment (any SAT/ACT format) as well as the official SAT/ACT dates of 3/14/2026 (SAT), 4/11/2026 (ACT), 5/2/2026 (SAT).
