Yunasa & Yunasa West: Created Specifically for Gifted Youth

Designed and led by eminent experts in the field of gifted youth, Yunasa embraces gifted children for who they are, helping them understand and work with the unique joys and challenges that gifted children face. Many traditional programs for gifted youth focus solely on intellectual abilities, overlooking the need for these children to grow in all aspects of their lives. Yunasa supports the whole gifted child, encouraging growth and support of campers intellectually, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

2022 Yunasa Program Updates

The Yunasa team is currently working with our hosts – YMCA Camp Shady Brook and our new Michigan location – Howell Nature Center in Howell, MI – on safety procedures in accordance with the field guide developed by the American Camp Association and guidelines from the Center for Disease Control. The safety of our campers is and will remain our utmost priority. We will be in touch with all families as soon as we have updates to share.

Both camp locations will have a Leadership Program:

  • Yunasa West in Colorado (Ages 10-15): June 11 – 18, 2022
    • 16 and 17 year old returning campers are welcome to join Yunasa West this camp
  • Yunasa Michigan (Ages 10-14): July 23 – 30, 2022
  • Extended Application Deadline: March 31, 2022

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS FOR YUNASA 2022

The Yunasa Team will take preventative measures to ensure a safe and fun camp season this summer. We plan to follow the CDC’s guidelines for Overnight Summer Camps including their Large and Small Gathering regulations, which will be updated in the spring. We strongly recommend that campers are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to camp. However, if your camper has a medical condition that restricts them from being vaccinated, unvaccinated students are required to submit a negative COVID-19 test from no more than 1 day prior to their arrival at camp.

Our host sites are currently following the resources provided by ACA’s (American Camp Association) and staying up to date with their local regulations. Once your camper receives their enrollment decision, more information will be provided regarding our hosts’ policies. Thank you for your understanding and support!
