Catherine Zakoian, MA, NCC, LPC

Catherine Zakoian, MA, NCC, LPC is a national certified, and licensed professional counselor in private practice in Boulder, Colorado. For over twenty years she has specialized in counseling services for gifted, twice-exceptional (2e), and profoundly gifted children, adolescents, teens, adults, families and organizations. Her earlier career in management within creative entrepreneurial organizations further informs her educational consultation practice where she assists public, independent, and alternative PreK-12 programs and schools employing and serving gifted and neurotypical populations to establish and maintain psychologically healthful workplace and learning environments. She is the author of Raising Gifted Children: A Practical Guide for Parents Facing Big Emotions and Big Potential (Rockridge Press, 2020).

Bright Not Broken: Gifted Kids, ADHD, and Autism

Future Educator Scholarship

Mrs Prindables is offering a scholarship opportunity for incoming or current college students majoring in education. Whether an incoming freshman or current student majoring in education, all are encouraged to apply for this $1,000 scholarship.

National Geographic Photo Contests

Visual storytelling is the heart of National Geographic. Our photography contests feature images created by photographers from around the world, sharing visions that inspire, inform, and awe.

EngineerGirl Writing Contest

Every year, the EngineerGirl website sponsors a contest dealing with engineering and its impact on our world. The topic and detailed instructions for the contest are posted in September with a deadline for submissions on February 1st of the following year. Winners are announced in the spring.

Georgia Cyber Academy Advanced & Gifted Program

The Advanced and Gifted Program is a supplemental enrichment program designed to meet the needs of our advanced learners in a variety of ways including: Enriched sessions; Curriculum compacting; Topic enrichment and extension; Honors and/or AP (Advanced Placement courses; Advanced and/or accelerated course planning and placement; Other activities which incorporate academics, multiple intelligences, and social interaction.

Gifted Music School

Gifted Music School is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational institution in Salt Lake City committed to defining the standard for high-level music education. Gifted Music School currently serves 582 students every single week and provides 1075 hours of lessons and/or classes every month. It is recognized nationally for exceptional music education.

The Cambria Institute

The Cambria Institute supports gifted learners and their families by providing services that include The Cambria Curated Community (CCC) for gifted learners ages 10 to 18, providing an environment where deep friendships form and passion-infused learning happens; gifted family guide and coach, working with gifted families with children ages 7 to 21 by providing 1:1 coaching and family partnership; gifted parent groups and courses; and gifted homeschooling and unschooling Transcript services.

Summer Programs at Alfred University

Each year Alfred University welcomes K-12 grade school students from all over the country to their campus to participate in exciting academic and sports co-ed day-long and overnight summer camps. These programs provide young people with opportunities to learn more about their fields of interest, to sample life on a college campus and to meet other students with similar interests and academic ability.

John Muir High School Early College Magnet

John Muir High School Early College Magnet aspires to excellence as a student-centered, comprehensive high school that is well known for its long-standing history of academic excellence, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. The school also offers college courses through Pasadena City College, Advanced Placement, honors, support courses in language arts and mathematics, special needs offerings.

Waterfront Education

Discover Waterfront Education (WE) enrichment programs provide unique STEM and STEAM educational experiences on the marine environment and conservation. Classes foster innovation and a creative approach to technology while utilizing local ocean waters as a natural classroom. Scholarships for Healthcare and Nursing Students of Historically Underrepresented Groups

Premier Nursing Academy has compiled and updated a list of scholarships for historically underrepresented groups that have lower representation in higher education or certain careers due to structural discrimination and racism. The list of available scholarships are open to students nationwide, are available those in historically underrepresented groups, including those who are pursuing healthcare careers, such as nursing, health administration or allied health careers.

PV Schools Gifted and Talented Preschool

This unique, tuition-based program is open to gifted preschool students throughout Paradise Valley, Arizona and is offered at four locations. All teachers are Early Childhood Certified and hold a Gifted Endorsement. Children benefit from a specialized preschool and highly qualified professionals. To be eligible for registration, students must have reached their fourth birthday and must score at 90 percent or higher on an IQ test. Parents may seek private IQ testing from a psychologist or schedule testing in the PV district.

National Youth Science Camp

The National Youth Science Foundation (NYSF), Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation established in 1983 to provide STEM*-focused programs for students from all across the country and around the world. The NYSF’s flagship program, the National Youth Science Camp, is a four-week session in the mountains of West Virginia that combines some of the brightest students in the country with top-notch scientists for lectures and outdoor adventures. Many students return later in their own STEM careers as guest presenters and perpetuate the traditions of the camp.
